The steak was really good. The Manhattan was amazing! Javier was great! This was a fun experience.
MoreFood was very nice- the brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had, but the service was disappointing. When you make the decision to visit a high end steakhouse, you expect the service to be on point as part of the experience. I would understand if the place was exceptionally busy, but the dining room was not more than half full.
MoreHad a nice lunch here. (The stop serving Brunch in Jun '18). Atmosphere is quite and upscale, but price was reasonable. Potato soup was light and flavorful. Some of the best hush puppies I've ever had- with excellent mustard aoli dip. Waygu Meatball and pasta was just the right size for lunch. A fun surprise was getting a plate of cotton candy with the check. Staff was extrealy nice and knowledgeable.
MoreWent here to celebrate an anniversary and loved it. Had great happy hour and the regular menu was also delicious. We ordered steal and lobster and it was perfect. Service was great as well.
MoreVery big portion! 18 oz ribeye, 16 oz new York strip, full bowl of pasta. They are cooked to the right temperature and taste good and juicy, even though the cuts were not aged and feel a little stiff comparing to the aged meat. Given the size, I would give it four stars.
MoreWe had a delightful dinner this Sunday evening. Our party Enjoyed everything from start to finish. The Pittsburgh style steak was prepared to perfection. The wine selection was complemented by the fabulous bar staff that helped us pair cocktails & wine with our meal. For dessert, we had a delightful blueberry cheesecake. However, a classic desert with a unique twist stole the show! Banana pudding with toasted marshmallows! Mic drop!
MoreOne of the best filets I've ever had. Brussel sprouts are also a must.
Filled me up in no time. Service is consistently great. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.
MoreVisited on a Thursday. The place has a cool atmosphere.
We visited the bar area during the day, and the restaurant in the evening on 10/13/18. We happened to be staying at the embassy suites, so it was very convenient. Dinner was wonderful. The portions were definitely more than we could eat. My husband had the New York Strip, and I had the Sirloin, both were cooked perfectly. We added the blue cheese butter to the steaks...delicious!!! My favorite side was the brussel sprouts. Our waiter was so incredibly helpful! The complementary cotton candy was a fun way to end dinner. We would absolutely come back when we are in San Antonio again.
MoreWe stopped in for a snack during Happy Hour. It's a warm and inviting atmosphere with views of the river. The staff is friendly and professional. The drinks were perfectly prepared. And the food was too. Note: we found the olives were best eaten by biting them in half instead of popping them into your mouth whole. If you eat them whole, the blue cheese gets lost. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
MoreTop notch customer service, staff was very responsive. If your being waited on by Raquel, your in good hands. If your looking for the utmost in flavorful chef prepared food this is the place. Try the garlic lime buttered shrimp the orzo the fries the deviled eggs and if you into a custom mixology of flavors try the white Russian
MoreOur second visit was not as good as the first over a year ago. Apparently, all of their steaks are now completely covered in peppercorns. The menu doesn’t state this, and the serversDidn’t mention it. Completely ruins a $50 steak. Our appetizers, drinks and sides were good, but service was a bit slow, especially for an early dinner, because several tables order table-side cocktails And table-side salads. Watching your server spend 5-10 minutes making a salad for another table while you’re waiting to order is very aggravating.
MoreVery interesting menu options, great service and the main course was divine. Super exciting surprise of cotton candy at the end of our lunch. Will totally recommend if you’re looking for amazing beef.
MoreWent for the riverwalk light festival. For the amount my family paid, you'd think food would be amazing... but Nope! Salmon and chicken were dry...how do you dry chicken legs and thighs?!?! All the sides were lacking flavor...and then we were all sitting like sardines bc they put chairs too close together. Was looking forward to it and left disappointed. Definitely getting dinner and river light festival tickets early next year. Now we know why everything else was sold out... but not here. Gross
MoreInside of the Embassy Suites hotel, street-level. Stopped in for happy hour (every day, 3p to 6p). Happy Hour Margaritas started at $6. Very good decor, good service, good reasonably strong drinks although points off for having only pre-made margaritas (no frozen options), and for being a little short-staffed. Decor is very nice and would go well on a romantic date. This was one of the very few "civilized" drink options we could find on the Riverwalk within reasonable walking distance and with a happy hour on the weekend. My burger came out medium, a bit on the small side, but the amount of fries was much larger than expected (honestly took up more than half of the plate). If you like this bar, you may wish to try the bars inside of Hotel Emma and Hotel Valencia, but expect a higher price. Can recommend.
MoreWent to the Range with high expectations and looking forward to the menus options. The appetizers were delicious and we enjoyed the time sitting and just chatting while ate our apps. We had quite a few, 3 to be precise. The charcuterie board, fried stuffed olives and the oysters (east coast). These were all very good, the olives were amazing and the board had great cheeses and meats. The oysters were smaller but still tasty. The main course came were we ordered steaks, the potatoes, and the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were ok, the potatoes I thought were very good, and the steaks were cooked just a bit over what we ordered. Our waitress was Marcella and she was awesome. Very attentive, very nice, and knowledgeable of the menu. For the price we expected more of a high end dining experience but this place is super casual.
MoreGreat food - was in town for a conference - walked in around 7pm and was seated right away - wait staff was very welcoming (Raquel) & knowledgeable about the menu - she was able to make good suggestions as to what each of us would like. Steak came out perfect along with all the sides - well worth the cost!! You get a free plate of cotton candy with your bill at the end 😊- if you are in a mood for good steak this is a must go when in San Antonio!
MoreWhen I walked into the restaurant at 7pm and the place was effectively empty. It gave me pause on whether I should stay or leave and find somewhere else to eat. I decided to stay and was rewarded with some great food. Server was friendly but oddly disappeared at times and not sure why with do few patrons dining. I ordered the filet which was prepared to perfection medium rare and it melted in your mouth. Also ordered the cauliflower dish for the side and it was excellent.
MoreCame during a convention. In attentive server. Food orders were not correct. Food was tasty, but just not a 4 star place. You can find better
MoreWhere’s the sixth star when I need it? We had a an extraordinary experience here at Range. Perfect for meat lovers, and the Ribeye was extremely tender and juicy and savory. The exciting sides were delicious too. Gouda cauliflower? Yum! But what made our experience so special was the service. In particular our waitress Stephanie made us feel so welcome and taken well care of, and she had that personal touch which made us truly feel like special guests and not just another customer. Thanks Steph!
MoreFood was great but pricey for quality. Not the best steak I've ever had but it definitely was up there and the atmosphere was nice.
MoreGreat service. Steak was overcooked, but had a nice flavor. Dessert is a must try.
MoreDecided to check out this new place, atmosphere was nice, you can see the river, the staff was great. We ordered the mushrooms as appetizer and I was surprised how good they were. I had prawn it was delicious, we also ordered the smoked salmon and it was great too. Their Old Fashion was great and the touch with the ice was awesome.
MoreEating at Range was an experience! Incredible food, patient and thoughtful staff and a very clean, warm environment, I couldn't have asked for more. Definitely try their aged steaks. Well worth the price.
MoreCaught a sky puppy (house fly) in my salad that glistened as though it had crawled out of an oil slick. While the restaurant did comp my salad, I do not feel that they handled the incident very well given that this creature looked like it had just lost a KY jelly wrestling competition after getting a little too aggressive with it's filthy little proboscis. On our forensic analysis, it appears that the fly had probably gotten into the dressing and died of oil engorgement, it appeared mildly decomposed, meaning that it had likely imparted some flavor to the dressing. Overall, I probably would not recommend this restaurant.
MoreI had a filet that was sublime with added blue cheese butter. It was cooked to perfection... check out the tomahawk too...
MoreCame for the happy hour oysters. They were meaty and delicious
